As a queer parent, I’ve learned so much from the stories of other queer parents. That’s why I’m excited to be a partner of The Queer Family Podcast for their second annual Pride Extravaganza! The show is bringing on some amazing guests this month, including Rosie O’Donnell and Colton Underwood!
Jaimie Kelton, host of The Queer Family Podcast, is an award-winning actor, voiceover artist, author, and lesbian mom, who brings queer guests onto her show each week to talk about their families. I had the pleasure of interviewing her last year, and my spouse Helen and I were in turn guests on the show’s 2023 Pride Extravaganza. Jaimie always brings high energy to her interviews as she chats with her guests both about what makes their families unique and about what they may have in common with some or all listeners on this journey of queer parenthood.
The Pride Extravaganza means double the episodes in June, with two new shows dropping each week. This year’s lineup includes not only actor Rosie O’Donnell and television personality Colton Underwood, but also Family Equality CEO Jaymes Black and some folks you may know from social media: Kymaria and Kelsey, Vicky and Charise, Caitlyn an “Wanda”, Lauren and Amanda, and Canada’s Gayest Family.
I’ve already listened to the episode with Rosie, who’s been a parent since 1995 and has five children. What comes across is how down to earth she is, with a practical and loving view of parenting. I hope you’ll have a listen, too, and subscribe to the show’s feed so you don’t miss any upcoming episodes.
