A “Marvelous” New Kids’ Song for Pride and Beyond

Austin-based family music band Strawbitty Yops are back with another fun track for Pride and beyond! Listen here!

“Look at me, I’m marvelous, I’m fabulous, splendiferous,” start the lyrics as the beat ramps up, and listeners will know immediately that this is a song of self-awareness and joy. It goes on to affirm, “Express myself,/Gender is bent,/I live my truth,/I represent.”

As the band explains in a press statement, “This song is a dance number, meant to be a runway style song for everyone to flaunt their individual style.” Indeed, it should have you doing just that!

The Strawbitty Yops are Woody Hill, Autumn Haws, and Cindy Haws. Haws and Hill have been queer artists and activists for many years, performing together as musicians and as drag kings. Autumn is Cindy’s daughter. The song was done in collaboration with Iwalani Music, with production by Dean Jones, and this was clearly an inspired partnership.

Crank up this tune on your favorite streaming platform for Pride or anytime you’re feeling (or want to feel) marvelous!
