Freedom to Marry Week and Blog Carnival

Freedom to Marry WeekThe team over at Freedom to Marry has asked me to remind people that February 11-17 is the 10th annual Freedom to Marry Week. They’ve planned quite a celebration, including free posters, a photo contest, a video contest, & a mini-grant for nonprofits.

Freedom to Marry is encouraging everyone to get active in their communities and host relevant events that week. I’m therefore going to host a Freedom-to-Marry blog carnival here at Mombian on Valentine’s Day, February 14. (Although most blog carnivals happen weekly or monthly, I don’t plan to repeat this more than once a year.) If you blog about the freedom to marry between now and then, leave a comment or send me an e-mail with the post’s permalink. (Please do not submit more than one post per blog, just to keep things manageable.) I’ll compile the posts with some commentary so people can easily read through and see others’ contributions. I know there are many perspectives about marriage even among LGBT-rights supporters. Let’s share our thoughts.

Hope you’ll join us here and consider hosting events in your local communities as well. (Let Freedom to Marry know if you do.)
