As many as six million adults and children in the U.S have an LGBT parent, according to a new study, with an estimated three million LGBT Americans having had a child at some point in their lives.
This is the only count I’ve seen (and it’s certainly the most recent one) that includes adults as well as children with LGBT parents. Suffice it to say that we are everywhere, we are racially and ethnically diverse, and we are not all as financially well off as one might guess from popular media images.
