Recipe-Finding Tips

MealTired of all the recipes in your old cookbooks? Here are a few tips to broaden your options:

  • Go to Google and enter “recipe:” (without the quotes) followed by a space-separated list of the ingredients for which you want to find a recipe.
  • Browse the cookbooks at Amazon.com, and find one with the “Search Inside the Book” feature. Hover your mouse pointer over the book image to reveal the “Search Inside” box, and do a search for the ingredient(s) you want. You’ll get links to images of any relevant pages in the book. (Of course, if you like the recipe, you should then consider buying the actual book, to compensate the author and others involved in creating it.)
  • Finally, if you’re in the mood for a little more browsing to find ideas, check out the long list of food blogs at KIPlog’s FOODBlogs.

Once you’ve found a recipe, don’t forget to have the kids help make it.
