Happy New Year, everyone! I thought I’d start the year off by listing a few things related to lesbian families we can expect in 2007:
- The ongoing fight for true marriage equality in New Jersey.
- A California Supreme Court ruling on the legality of banning same-sex marriage.
- The New Hampshire Legislature consideration of same-sex relationship recognition.
- The continuing evolution of LGBT-parental-rights cases in Oklahoma and Virginia, among other places.
- The birth of Mary Cheney and Heather Poe’s baby, and the debate about same-sex parenting this engenders.
- Season Four of The L Word. (No, the show isn’t about lesbian families per se, but includes one of the few portrayals of lesbian moms on TV.)
- Our children, continuing to learn and grow.
What are some of the other things, both political and personal, that you are looking forward to in the coming year?
