Mark your calendars and set your Tivos. The Family Pride Coalition has announced that two of their members, dads Mark and Andy Sutherland-Travino, along with their children and great niece, will be on the Oprah Winfrey Show on January 29, “the show’s first positive portrayal of a gay family!” Family Pride says:
We are absolutely thrilled that the Sutherland-Travino family is sharing their family story with millions of Americans – changing hearts and minds across the country.
Seize this amazing opportunity and invite family and friends over for a viewing. Throw an Oprah party. Discuss the importance of family equality – create new allies. Use this episode as a stepping stone. It doesn’t matter if you identify as LGBTQ or not – spread the message that love makes a family.

For those of you who plan your calendars more than two weeks in advance, Family Pride has also announced that their annual Family Week in Provincetown, MA will be July 28 through August 4.
