However you choose to celebrate (or not) this day, may it be a joyous one for you and your family. May we also not forget that the first proclamation of Mother’s Day in the United States, by Julia Ward Howe, was a call for peace and disarmament, urging all women to take up the cause.

- Scout Opatut gives us the perspective of one teenager with lesbian moms, sharing her answer to the question What Is So Strange About Having Loving Parents? in the Huffington Post’s Fearless Voices section.
- Nina at Queercents asks her Ten Money Questions of author and mother Rebecca Walker.
- Finally, the Associated Press reports on WNBA players who are moms, leading off with lesbian mom Sheryl Swoopes (two points!) but failing to mention her partner, Alisa Scott, despite talking of other players’ husbands (foul!).
