A big congratulations to Joe. My. God., winner of “Best LGBT Blog” in the 2007 Weblog Awards. A thank you, too, to all my co-finalists for a fun and civil competition. Everyone was very thoughtful about linking to the entire list of finalists in the category, not just soliciting votes for themselves. It’s an honor to be in such a group.
A special thanks, though, to all of you who voted for me. Your support means a lot, and inspires me to keep blogging!
I love your blog. Congrats on being a finalist. That’s major!
Okay, I made a comment on here several days back and it clearly never made it out of my computer. So I have to say (again to me, but for the first time to you): you got to keep blogging! If you stopped, a gaping hole would tear open in the fabric of lesbian motherhood, and countless numbers of us would be sucked into it.
You are an institution, for which I am constantly grateful. So much so that if ever you did want to retire, you would be morally obligated to conduct a six-month, national search for a suitable replacement. And even then we’d keep whimpering for you put that parasolled coconut milk drink down and come back out of retirement.
Thanks, Polly! I appreciate your support! And don’t worry–I can’t retire to a tropical island until I’ve made more money at this. (It trickles in, but isn’t enough to top up our son’s college fund quite yet.)
