In our vlog this week, Helen and I wonder if ABC’s Cashmere Mafia has not one, but two, lesbian pregnancies up its oh-so-fashionable (but thankfully turkey-baster-free) sleeve. We also discuss The L Word’s portrayal of an older daughter dealing with a mom’s coming out, the newly domestic Bette Porter, and scary foods from childhood. Finally, in honor of Valentine’s Day, we explore how becoming a parent changes romance, and make a desperate request to childfree friends.
If the Veoh video above isn’t working (sometimes their server can be flaky), you can try it at Daily Motion, though the picture quality isn’t as good there.

You mentioned that there are a lot of straight parents at your son’s school. Could you talk about how you were perceived at the schools you looked at before enrolling him. Also, what questions did you ask administrators and their reaction to your questions? Could you talk about the other straight parents and their reactions to you as a couple. Is their a problem with playdates, other kids coming over to your house? Do your son’s teachers speak in neutral family speech in class?
Oh, good questions all. We’ll definitely tackle them in future episodes. We did talk a bit about playdates and other parents in Episode Seven, about 7:00 minutes into the vlog.
