His coming from a fatherless family may not mean much of anything. It may be trumped by his Afro-American supporters.
Bear in mind that Afro-Americans turned out in massive numbers to vote for him. And while a large number of Whites voted for him as well (including people like me), the Blacks voted solidly against homosexual marriage. In California, it was the Black vote that put Prop 8 out of reach.
The Black vote is gonna be a big problem for you.
