A friendly weekend reminder to keep voting for Mombian as Best Large Blog in the 2008 Weblog Awards. You can (and should!) vote once every 24 hours through January 13, since results are cumulative. (That means in two more days I’ll stop posting these annoying reminders.)
Right now, I’m far from first—but I’m not last, either, and I’d like it to stay that way. With a big rally (and it would have to be big), I might even move up a spot.
After the jump are some of my picks in other categories.
In the Best LGBT Blog category, I’m pulling for Bilerico since I’m a contributor there, but it’s a fine slate of contestants all the way around.
Bilerico artist Storm Bear is up for Best Comic Strip for Town Called Dobson. I think xkcd, which I also like a lot (because I’m a geek), has a lock on the win at this point, but I’m voting for Town Called Dobson just to show my support.
In yet another category, lesbian blog Grace the Spot is up for Best New Blog. It’s run by Grace Chu, who started the 8 Against 8 campaign against Prop 8 in October.
The very funny and bi Margaret Cho is up for Best Celebrity Blogger. Looks like Wil Wheaton is leading the pack there, though, but at least he’s an ally, posting multiple times against Prop 8 and in support of his friends George Takei and Brad Altman. Still, I’m giving Margaret my vote in the (perhaps vain) hope she’ll at least come in ahead of Britney Spears.
Rod Mccullom’s gay blog Rod 2.0 is up for Best Midsize Blog.
Over in Parenting, strong LGBT ally Looky, Daddy! is in first place, although the competition is breathing down his neck. (Here’s his awesome post against Prop 8, in which he cleverly captioned wedding photos to explain why everyone should have the right to marry.)
Show them all some love!
