Lesbian attention this week is split between the Inauguration and the new season of The L Word. If you’ve been busy reading political blogs and missed the first episode of Season Six, you can watch it free at Join Showtime.
If you missed Season Five, however, or want to watch it again, here’s your chance to win not only an L Word Season Five DVD box set, but also an L Word trucker hat and wine bottle charm, courtesy of a marketing firm working with Showtime.
The prize pack will go to the first person who leaves a comment with the correct answer to the following puzzle. Please note rules and restrictions below.
In honor of the former senator from Illinois: Name two actors in major roles on the L Word who were born in Illinois.
Rules and restrictions: U.S. and Canada residents only, please. One entry per person. Don’t worry if your comment is moderated; once I approve it, it will appear based on the time you submitted it. Previous winners of Mombian contests cannot play again. If you are or have been a paying advertiser on Mombian, you can’t play.
You must also leave a valid e-mail address with your comment. Don’t leave a postal address, though. If you win, I’ll contact you by e-mail about shipping. (I will then share the winner’s name and postal address only with the marketing firm originating the giveaway, for the sole purpose of allowing them to mail you your prize. They have promised me your address will not be sold or shared by them.)
I think it’s Jennifer Beals and Marlee Matlin.
It’s Jennifer Beals & Marlee Matlin…
Also, Janina Gavankar & Jane Lynch
It is indeed Jennifer Beals and Marlee Matlin.
Did you know Leisha Haley was born in Japan? Crazy!
Jennifer Beals (Bette Porter), Marlee Matlin (Lodi Lerner), Jane Lynch (Joyce Wischnia), and Janina Gavankar (Papi) were all born in Illinois.
Yes indeed–all of you are right, but Katie wins because she was first.
i like it when you pick random winners. i work all day and i cant check my rss feeds at work.
Thanks for the feedback, DJ. I’ve hesitated to do too many random ones because the “first to comment” process seems more transparent. I’ve tried to post the giveaways at different times of day to give people with different schedules a chance. But if folks prefer random, and you trust me to do it fairly (which I do), then I can certainly do some of them that way.
