In honor of Mothers’ Day, Freedom to Marry has asked 12 two-mom families to talk about how they are celebrating the holiday, what being a mother means to them, and what marriage means to their family (whether or not they are currently married).

There are couples with infants (one only a month old!), and ones with older kids; families from states with the freedom to marry and those without; multiracial families; military families; binational parents struggling to stay in the same country, and more. They also share images of their families, ranging from professional portraits to family snapshots. (Plus puppies!)

Go have a read and enjoy the stories and photos!

How are you celebrating this weekend? What does it mean to you to be a mother? Leave a comment!
