Eighteen-year-old high school senior Riley Roberts spoke to the Nevada Assembly last week in favor of repealing the state’s ban on marriage for same-sex couples. Why does he care? He has lesbian moms. Watch his emotional testimony below.
Thanks to PolicyMic for posting this—though I’ll add that their headline is a presumably deliberate echo of the MoveOn.org headline that made Zach Wahls’ video of testimony before the Iowa House go viral in 2011. Roberts and Wahls each have a different style, however, which is great to see. Wahls, a  state debate champion is measured yet passionate; Roberts is less polished and more raw in his emotions. Both are to be commended for their courage. (And Roberts also answers the long-standing question of whether sons of lesbian moms will learn to do “manly” things like tie their own ties. The answer is yes.)
