A Houston lesbian couple was found murdered in Galveston, Texas on Friday morning, reports ABC affiliate KTRK-TV (via Elixher). That’s awful news in any case, but it’s made worse because one of the women has a young child.
Britney Cosby and Crystal Jackson had been together for two years, and Jackson has a five-year-old daughter, says KTRK. They do not indicate whether Cosby also considered herself a mother or stepmother to the child, or if the child was living with them. (She could have been from a previous relationship and living with the other parent.) Police have released a suspect sketch. There is no indication of whether this was a hate crime.
My heart goes out to the girl and to all of Jackson and Cosby’s family and friends.
