A new video series on motherhood from Scary Mommy kicks off with comedian and lesbian mom Judy Gold talking about raising two teenage sons in a family with three Jewish moms.
Scary Mommy’s “Mother^%$^!@ Motherhood” series promises to bring us “real moms” on “real motherhood, no sugar coating.” Gold’s “Motherf*&@!ng Motherhood” (which, we may assume, is a subtle take on the series’ theme of “Mother^%$^!@ Motherhood”) gets things rolling with an uncensored look at her parenting style, teaching her kids what’s funny, boys’ puberty, and work-life balance.. She also shares what she thinks is “the most important thing when you become a parent”—and I can’t say I disagree.
Gold has written and starred in critically acclaimed and award-winning off-Broadway shows as well as her own stand-up specials on HBO, Comedy Central, and LOGO, guest starred in numerous sitcoms and news shows, and won two Emmys for writing and producing The Rosie O’Donnell Show. She may have met her match in Nerf footballs, however.
