A very happy New Year to all of you and your families as we enter 2017!
The past 12 months have had their share of ups and downs—for me personally, and for our country and world generally—but let’s remember they’re an arbitrary designation. (In my own Jewish tradition, for example, the new year started in October.) The next 12 months will bring things both expected and surprising. May we find joy and love with our families and friends to give us strength, come what may.
