Mark your calendars! The 12th Annual Blogging for LGBTQ Families Day is Thursday, June 1! Anyone who wants to show their support for LGBTQ families is welcome to join us.
For some of us, every day is a day to blog about LGBTQ families; for others, it’s an occasional or even new topic. Regardless, I hope you’ll consider submitting a post to share on June 1 in celebration of our diverse LGBTQ families and our many allies.
I’ll have more information in the coming weeks about a few organizations that are helping to spread the word about this event—but at its heart, Blogging for LGBTQ Families Day is about independent bloggers writing (or vlogging, Facebooking, Tweeting, or photographing) to make a difference.
Here’s how it works:
- Bloggers should post at their own blogs, YouTube channels, or other public social media channels on a topic related to LGBTQ families on or before June 1, 2017, then submit the links to your entries here. I will showcase the full list of participants at Mombian on June 1 for all to see.
- If you use Facebook, just make sure your contributed post is set to “Public.” Then click the date/time stamp to go to that post’s specific page and copy the URL that’s in your browser’s address bar so you can submit it.
- Additionally, you may tweet in support of LGBTQ families on June 1 and include the hashtag #LGBTQfamilies. Follow the hashtag throughout the day to see what’s happening.
How is “family” defined for the event? Any way you want—that’s the point!
Please help spread the word! Feel free to download the image in this post and share on social media. Just link back to: https://mombian.com/blogging-for-lgbtq-families-day/
