Looking for good reads from other LGBTQ parents? Want something book-length to really dig your teeth into? Check out nearly two dozen memoirs!
These tales offer a mix of perspectives across the spectrum and across the better part of almost two decades. Some are lyrical and evocative; others are uproariously funny; some delineate legal or political challenges while others focus on personal journeys (or a mix of the two). They are not as fully representative across other aspects of identity (race, class, ability) as LGBTQ parents really are, so even as we read them, let us hope for more and be inspired to write our own stories.

(Grown children of LGBTQ parents have written some great memoirs, too, but that’s for another post.)
