LGBTQ families of all identities are invited to join GWK Academy for a three-night cruise in the Bahamas aboard Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas. It’s all the fun of a family-oriented cruise with the bonus of queer community.

The 5th Annual GWK LGBTQ+ Family Spring Break, April 2 to 6, 2026, not only includes the three-night cruise, but also a one-night stay at a Miami area hotel and a cruise transfer, plus GWK-exclusive extras including a welcome reception, group motorcoach transfers, parents’ night out, family meet-ups, family vacation tees, and more.
The Spring Break is co-hosted by Gays With Kids, GWK Academy, and José Rolón (@nycgaydad), with their travel partner TravelBrilliant. Visit the event site for full details and the latest information.
From speaking with Brian Rosenberg, executive director and head coach at GWK Academy, I know that many of the parents from previous years of the Spring Break are still in touch with each other, having formed lasting bonds during the trip. I have not personally been on one of GWK’s previous cruises, but was on another queer family cruise before GWK’s existed, and I know first-hand just how wonderful it is to be on a getaway with other queer families where both parents/guardians and children can have fun, relax, share stories, and just be. I also know that Brian (whom I interviewed last year) is not only a dad of three, but also someone who is truly and deeply dedicated to helping queer people grow and nurture their families. I’m sure he’ll work tirelessly to make the Spring Break a great experience. If you have any questions about the event, please reach out to him.
If you’re looking for a family getaway next spring, I hope you’ll consider this one.
Full disclosure: GWK Academy is kind enough to give me an affiliate commission from bookings that my readers make, but (don’t tell them) I would have helped promote the event in any case, because I believe in the power of queer family community and creating spaces where it can thrive.
