Nurse Jackie Season Two: The Return of the Lesbian Moms?

Nurse Jackie Season Two: The Return of the Lesbian Moms?

Showtime’s Nurse Jackie has its Season Two premiere tonight at 10 p.m. ET. I’ll be watching. I loved the show last season, not only for Edie Falco as Jackie, but also because it’s one of the few shows that has done lesbian moms right—that is to say, with a storyline more original than “two lesbians and their wacky antics in search of a sperm donor.” Here’s my longer piece on last year’s lesbian mom storyline. It remains an open question whether Swoosie Kurtz and Blythe Danner, who played the moms of Peter Facinelli’s Dr. Fitch “Coop” Cooper, will return this season. I sure hope so. (And although Showtime is advertising on this site through one of my ad networks, they’re not paying me to say anything about the show). After the jump, a clip of the two moms from last season.
