In what seems like a propitious week, Iron Chef Cat Cora’s wife Jennifer gave birth to the couple’s third son last Saturday, After Ellen reports. Cat Cora is also pregnant, and due in July. After Ellen also notes that Chef Cora will be opening a restaurant in Disney World this fall. I’m kind of bummed
I’m sitting here just after the final moments of the final ER and realizing that Helen and I have been together longer than the show has been on, but only by a year. ER brought us some of the only images of lesbian moms on mainstream television, starting with Dr. Kerry Weaver and ending with
This week, Helen and I are celebrating 16 years together! We also discuss the joys of classic Disney films (with or without a young Angela Lansbury), and how children’s movies have changed over the years, not necessarily for the better. Amidst all the talk of potential progress for LGBT rights under President Obama, one opportunity has made few headlines: the prospect of more LGBT inclusive children’s programming on public television. Talk with almost any LGBT parent, and they will bemoan the dearth of LGBT families in children’s media. There is a clear need—and a new

Iron chef and lesbian mom Cat Cora is four-and-a-half months pregnant! She and her partner Jennifer already have two sons and Jennifer is also pregnant and due in April. The couple isn’t wasting any time expanding their family. (Cora is 41, which may explain the rush.) PR Newswire gives us the details: The Cora’s [sic]
Tonight on Showtime’s pre-game show before the grand finale of The L Word, actor Laurel Holloman (“Tina Kennard”) said she would tell her children, “It will be a different world for them, and this [show] will be a little piece of that change.” “Groundbreaking” is perhaps the most overused word associated with media coverage of
The award-winning film about teaching LGBT inclusion in schools, It’s STILL Elementary, is having its national television premiere this Saturday, March 7, on LOGO at 8 p.m. EST. I interviewed Academy Award-winning director Debra Chasnoff in 2007 about the film. She also spoke about her film That’s a Family, which caused a brouhaha in Evesham,
