Asha’s Mums

Asha is brought face-to-face with narrow-mindedness when a teacher rejects her field-trip permission slip signed by two moms. Her classmates don’t believe her either when she says she and her brother have two moms, and one says his dad thinks having two moms is “bad.” All come to an understanding in the end, however. May be too focused on the negative for many, especially the youngest kids, but might be good for those who have experienced such situations. Notable for being one of few LGBTQ-inclusive books featuring a protagonist and entire family who are people of color.
