Cinda Meets Ella: A Fairly Queer Tale

In this second updated, western-themed fairy tale from Wallace West, adventurous Cinda’s parents are eaten by alligators, and her awful aunt Hildy barges in to take charge of Cinda’s life. She and her two boys make Cinda get rid of her animals and dress in “acceptable clothes.” One day, however, a rider comes to their house, bearing an invitation for a rodeo hosted by the area’s richest family. The prize money would allow Cinda to regain her freedom—and the rider themself also catches Cinda’s eye.

With the help of a talking boar and a friendly rattlesnake, Cinda enters the rodeo. All does not go as planned, however, and one of Hildy’s boys is on the verge of winning, when the mysterious rider, Ella, appears once again to lend Cinda a hand—and their heart.

Silly and fun—something we can always use a little more of.

Cinda is Black; Ella, White.
