Anthropomorphic animals demonstrate many different family types in this board book, including ones with two moms, two dads, single parents, and one of each. There are ones in which the children are adopted; where they live with cousins, grandparents, an aunt, and step-sisters and brothers, among others; and ones in which the parents are married, or not. Done with humor and heart, although it may be best paired with other books that show human families, too. This is an older edition whose illustrations have been updated in the Langs’ All Kinds of Families.
