I’m a Girl

“I’m supposed to be made of sugar and spice/and all things nice./But I’m sweet and sour/and not a little flower,” the protagonist of this charming tale (an anthropomorphic blue donkey) asserts. Sometimes, her actions and attitude mean that she is mistaken for a boy, but she is adamant that “I’m a girl.” One day, she meets a boy who likes princess dresses and playing dolls, and they begin a wonderful friendship. A whimsical tale that defies gender stereotypes.
