First published in 1995 and updated in 2003, this is a classic but now outdated work by two lesbian therapists and parents, about family creation, safety, legal considerations for lesbian families, coming out to children and our extended families, confronting racism, work-life balance, and more. It is notable for having numerous chapters that each look at a different age/stage of child development, from infancy to adulthood, and the various issues lesbian moms—and parents in general—may confront in them.
