The Tea Dragon Tapestry

We return to the world of the tea dragons in this third volume of the graphic novel fantasy series. Here, apprentice blacksmith Greta tries to impress a master blacksmith with her skills while also caring for tea dragon Ginseng, who seems deep in grief. Meanwhile, Minette, Greta’s friend and ward of tea shop owners and partners/spouses Hesekiel and Erik, receives a mysterious package from the monastery where she was once training to be a prophetess. This causes her to question what she gave up. As Greta and Minette work through these problems, they also encounter the nonbinary Rinn (now grown) and Aedhan the dragon whom we met in Volume 2.

Greta is dark skinned and black haired with small horns; Hesekiel is a humanoid and llama-like; Erik is dark skinned, brown haired, and uses a wheelchair; and Minette is White, with pink hair and antlers. Supplemental matter at the end offers more details about tea dragons.

Themes of caring for someone through grief and about the paths we choose through life are gently woven into the tale, which like the rest of the series, balances an adorable aesthetic and fantastical world with insights into very human emotions.
