A song by Canadian singer-songwriter Mandy Morris about meeting a new friend and respectfully asking what their name and pronouns are. Morris, a Calgary-based vocalist, educator, and entrepreneur, said in a press statement, “We have an opportunity to create a better future for LGBTQ+ youth by teaching all children to introduce themselves by name and pronouns and ask for and use correct pronouns when referring to others. So I decided to write a song about it!”
“What’s Your Name?” includes verses that show why using the right pronouns is respectful and what to do if you accidentally misgender someone. The refrain says:
What’s your name?
What’s your pronoun?
I could guess but that’s really not fair
What’s your name?
What’s your pronoun?

Morris is also known for her interpretations of jazz standards; her debut album, On the Sunny Side of the Street, was nominated for Jazz Recording of the Year at the YYC Music Awards in Calgary. When she is not performing, she works as an educator in her private studio, at the Calgary Stampede’s Young Canadians School, and at Chinook School of Music.
