The Morning After the Fosters’ Wedding

I’m so excited. The Fosters, ABC Family’s drama about two moms and their five kids, returns in its winter premiere Monday at 9 p.m. ET. I’m a big fan of the show, which I think gives us a wonderful, textured look at a lesbian family and means a lot for our community. Here’s a glimpse of what’s to come, starting with what happens the day after Stef and Lena’s wedding.

Sofia Coppola to Bring Memoir About Gay Dad to Big Screen

Some good news to start the new year: Fairyland: A Memoir of My Father, Alyssia Abbott’s memoir of growing up in 1970s and 80s San Francisco with her single gay dad, is becoming a feature film directed by Sofia Coppola.

Happy New Year 2014!

New Year’s Day always reminds me of my son’s first year, when we dressed him up in a “Happy New Year” sash and a diaper to be Baby New Year at my in-laws’ party. I won’t post pictures, since his now-10-year-old self would never forgive me — but I do smile at the memory. Time flies, which means we must be having fun, right?
