A child named Anna learns to feel love from first two, then three, then four parents. The book swirls with bright colors and whimsical images as Anna experiences the love of each new member of her family. It also acknowledges some initial hesitancies Anna has about a new parent and addresses her later fear that one of them will go away. The predominant feeling, though, is that of love and care as each new parent brings their own color to the whole and Anna learns different things from each of them.
The book was written with children of polyamorous parents in mind, but feels broad enough that it might also work for families of three or more parents who are not all romantically linked (say, a couple and their donor/surrogate and partner who are all co-parenting). Joyous and celebratory.
