Spanish edition of Breanna Stewart. Review is of the English edition.
An early reader biography of the WNBA superstar, this small volume is filled with photographs and facts about Stewart’s life, including her days playing as a kid, her college championships, her career in the WNBA and on Team USA, and her co-founding the Unrivaled 3-on-3 league, which “lets pro women’s basketball players earn money during the offseason.”
The book also tells us that she’s married to Marta Xargay, a former pro player from Spain whom she met when they played together in Russia, and that they have two kids. A photo shows the couple with son Theo holding the WNBA Finals trophy. Another page tells us that Stewart “stands up for Black Lives Matter, the LGBTQ+ community, and women’s rights.”
Stats and a glossary round out this simple but nicely done biography, perfect for kids just starting to move beyond picture books.
