A straightforward board book showing children in many kinds of families saying good night. Families including those with two moms or two dads, multiracial families, and ones with single parents, grandparents, divorced parents, step-siblings, half-siblings, adopted, and foster children. It begins with a child telling his parents, “Our whole family is so lucky you adopted us,” which comes dangerously close to the harmful trope of adopted children being “lucky” (see this article and this one, among others, which explain more), but since it’s technically framed as both the parents and kids being lucky, perhaps some adoptive families may not find it offensive. Make your own call.
