“What is lovely?” asks this book, before showing us a world of people diverse in skin tones, body types, hair colors and styles, other physical differences, clothing, and more. “Lovely is different, weird, and wonderful,” it concludes. “We are all … Lovely.”
Several of the characters appear gender creative, including a bearded character in a skirt and some who could be read as nonbinary. We also see one two-man couple (and maybe one two-woman couple, although one person’s gender is ambiguous. I’m not complaining).
Simple but effective.
