Twins Mel and Mo, who are never gendered and could be read as nonbinary, may look the same, but their likes and interests are different. Their differences push them further apart as they get older, until Mel takes over the family umbrella store while Mo runs away to perform on the circus high wire. When Theodora Tweedle’s Raincoats and Roller Skates comes to town, however, the exciting new business means that umbrellas go out of style, and no one wants to go watch the circus anymore.
The twins each struggle to keep their separate endeavors afloat, until they realize that they can actually help each other, and despite their differences, create something balanced and wonderful together.
A fun twist on many twin tales that emphasize similarities. The twins are White.
