With simple text and photos, this book shows some of the many things mothers do, such as helping kids learn to play piano, working in an office, building houses, baking cookies with kids, helping them when they are sick, and playing with, snuggling, and loving their children. The families are of various racial/ethnic identities, and one two-mom family is among them. The prose is basic and straightforward, and not particularly captivating (“Luca’s mom builds houses. She works hard”), but children may appreciate seeing photos of families rather than drawn illustrations.
