Jeremiah’s mom and dad are divorced and he’s spending summer with his dad, who sometimes dates men and sometimes women. This summer, however, his dad has moved in with his new boyfriend Michael, who is a little too flamboyant for Jeremiah’s comfort (his bicycle has a unicorn on it!) and whom Jeremiah doesn’t (yet) see as family. The summer brings new friendships, however, including that of a girl with two moms and an older gay neighbor, who help Jeremiah rethink his ideas of masculinity and family. Notable for being one of few children’s books with a clearly bisexual parent.
