Tiny Bear Goes Missing

This standalone sequel to Small Knight and the Angry Prince follows the nonbinary Small Knight on a new adventure. This time, Small Knight, who has bravely captured their Anxiety Monster, goes exploring a cave with Tiny Bear and falls asleep. When they wake back in the castle (thanks to another diligent knight who carries them home), Tiny Bear is missing! This causes the jar in which the Anxiety Monster was held to shatter, releasing the terrifying monster.

Small Knight searches the castle for Tiny Bear, trailed by the Anxiety Monster, only to realize their furry friend is probably still in the cave. Small Knight goes back to the cave, keeping Anxiety Monster in tow so they can keep an eye on it. When even the Anxiety Monster seems scared, though, Small Knight tries to reassure it, and perseveres until they find their friend. After the rescue, Small Knight and Tiny Bear work to shrink the Anxiety Monster to a manageable size, and Tiny Knight comes up with an idea for how to keep it safely and comfortably contained.

The book’s gentle message about anxieties—sometimes scary, sometimes controllable—will likely offer readers comfort and useful ways of thinking about how to manage anxieties of their own.

Small Knight and their family are White.
