AfterEllen.com Feature on Lesbians in Advertising

Since I’ve blogged about lesbians in advertising (or the lack thereof) a couple of times in the past few days, I wanted to point out a full-length article that appeared today on AfterEllen.com covering the same topic. Hop on over if you want to read a more detailed review of lesbian-themed ads over the years—good, bad, but rarely ugly.

  1. Just wanted to tell you how much we love your site and the info on it…this article was great! On the flip side, every event we go to -the ratio is about 15:1 gay men vs. lesbians. Not only do our ads sucks, but our lack of participation in any community, national, or worldwide organization, event or social gathering is always poor at best. It’s like we blow off everything until The Dinah. Unbelieveable! This is why we do our show on the internet- The Lesbian Lounge airs Wed. at 9pm EST on http://www.gayinternetradiolive.com, where myself, and bud, Donna, have teamed up with a BOY based station to bring a little estrogen for any lesbians who may be listening! We figured we’d catch ’em in the evening, after the kids are asleep, the lauundry is folded, the lawn is watered and they’re checking e-mail. Seems like it’s working…we’re growing. Give us a shout out or a listen, if you get a chance. We’re always mentioning this site! Take care–
Denise- from the Lesbian Lounge on G.I.R.L.
