If you haven’t yet registered for the travel-focused Twitter party for LGBT families on Wednesday, November 6, please do! You can just join in at 9 p.m. ET — but if you register first and then leave a tweet during the party (with the hashtags #TMOM and #RIFamily), you’ll be eligible to win one of two signed copies of Iron Chef and lesbian mom Cat Cora’s Classics with a Twist: Fresh Takes on Favorite Dishes cookbook, or the GRAND PRIZE: a Residence Inn gift card valued at $250.
We’ll be discussing topics including:
- Legal and practical aspects of traveling interstate and internationally
- General tips for hitting the road with kids in tow
- Extended stays out-of-state or internationally during an adoption process
. . . and we want to hear your questions and suggestions.
Family Equality Director of Public Policy Emily Hecht-McGowan will offer legal insight, and Midwest Regional Manager Kim Simes will share her travel tips. (Read about Emily and her family in this recent article, and get a glimpse of some of the concerns for LGBT families on the go.)
The event is sponsored by Residence Inn by Marriott in partnership with Mombian, TravelingMom, and the Family Equality Council. We hope you’ll join us to share your own suggestions, questions, and traveler’s tales. Just follow and use the hashtags #TMOM and #RIFamily.
Please share the graphic here on your blogs and social media. (Share easily on Facebook via the post I put on the Mombian Facebook page, if you like.) Let’s draw a great crowd so we can share lots of perspectives and ideas!
