The Disney Channel just showed its first same-sex parents, and now comes news that Disney World will be hosting “Family Outfest,” a week of activities for LGBT families, this July.
Running July 1 to 7, the event is organized by Converge Orlando, the official LGBT Convention and Visitors Bureau for Orlando and Central Florida. Other Orlando corporations are also signing on to participate, including the Nickelodeon Suites Resort. With Disney World already hosting “Gay Days,” and with a gay president of the theme park, George Kalogridis, the idea of a week for LGBT families seems like a no-brainer.
Of course, if you’re looking for LGBT family camaraderie and inclusive activities in an even more concentrated way, don’t forget about the Family Equality Council’s Family Week in Provincetown, Mass., July 26 to August 2, not to mention the many cruises and events from R Family Vacations.
