You’re Invited: Blogging for LGBTQ Families Day Is June 2

2014familyday403Yes, it’s that time of year again, and you’re all invited to join me for the 9th Annual Blogging for LGBTQ Families Day! (We’ve added the “Q” this year for extra queerness.) In addition to the blogging event on Monday, June 2, I have a special treat this year: an in-person LGBTQ Families Celebration on Sunday, June 1, for anyone in the Boston area. Anyone who wants to show their support for LGBTQ families is welcome. Details below.

Here’s how it works:

The blogging event:

  • Bloggers should post at their own blogs, YouTube channels, or other public social media channels on a topic related to LGBTQ families on or before June 2, 2014, then submit the links to your entries here. I will showcase the full list of participants at Mombian on June 2 for all to see.
  • Additionally, you may tweet in support of LGBTQ families on June 2 and include the hashtag #lgbtqfamilies. I will display the tweets in a scrolling box at www.mombian.com throughout the day. The hashtag can also be followed using most popular Twitter software.

Date: Sunday, June 1st, 2014
Time: 2:00pm – 4:00pm
Location: Residence Inn Back Bay/ Fenway : 125 Brookline Ave.

Boston-area LGBTQ families and friends are invited to an LGBTQ Families Celebration at the Residence Inn Back Bay-Fenway on Sunday, June 1, from 2pm to 4pm! The afternoon of fun and socializing is sponsored by Residence Inn in conjunction with Mombian and Family Equality Council. Come meet other LGBTQ families in the area and enjoy refreshments with a view of Fenway Park. There will be a fun photo booth and inclusive coloring activities for kids.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to share a message about their families that will be posted online as part of Blogging for LGBTQ Families Day on June 2nd.

Parking will be limited and offered at a discounted price of $20 per vehicle for attendees; the hotel is easily accessible via public transportation.

We ask that you please RSVP, as there is a limited capacity for this event.
