Identify as a member of the lesbian community? Help contribute to a better understanding of lesbian health by participating in an anonymous study about lesbians and breast cancer, whether you are a survivor or have no history of the disease.
Rosara Torrisi, who is running the study, is a licensed clinical social worker in New York State and a certified sex therapist. She is a graduate of Barnard College, holds a Master of Social Work from Columbia University, and is a Ph.D candidate in Widener University’s Human Sexuality Program, where she received a Master of Education. She is also the founder and president of the Long Island Institute of Sex Therapy (LIIST). She tells me:
This study is about the sexuality of both lesbian survivors of breast cancer and lesbian women who have not been diagnosed with breast cancer. Every participant who completes the study will receive a $20 Coupon Voucher for use at HankyPanky.com!
Your members who meet the following criteria may be eligible:
- 21 years of age or older
- Identify as a member of the lesbian community (Both lesbian women without a breast cancer history and lesbian survivors of breast cancer can participate. “Woman” and “Lesbian” are broadly defined).
And for those of you who want to make sure the research has some oversight, she says, “The Widener University IRB approves this study until 1/15/17 under study number 52-16.”
Go here if you wish to participate. Please direct any questions to Torrisi, not to me.
