Family Equality Launches “The Neighborhood” to Support LGBTQ+ Families During COVID-19

Family Equality has launched The Neighborhood: A Virtual Hub for LGBTQ+ Families to support all of us during these strange days of the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s full of activities for kids of all ages, parents, and prospective parents!

Family Equality - The Neighborhood

Among the events for parents and prospective parents are a workshop on how to cut hair (useful when you can’t get to the barber/salon), one on planning your finances during turbulent times, and a support group for those trying to conceive. For kids, there’s a drag queen storytime for the young tots, and for older ones, a creative writing workshop taught by Robin Stevenson (whose updated  middle-grade book on Pride and LGBTQ activism just came out), and a workshop on LGBTQ history by Sarah Prager, author of Queer, There, and Everywhere: 23 People Who Changed the World).

Check them out and join the fun! (And see my own list of LGBTQ-inclusive resources for this time of physical distancing.)
