Watch: “The Blue’s Clues Pride Parade” Is a Joyous Song Celebrating Queer Families

Yes, it’s a trifecta of posts today about LGBTQ-inclusive kids’ shows and videos! Here’s an awesome Pride video from Nick Jr. show Blue’s Clues & You, featuring all kinds of queer families and sung by drag queen Nina West! Families with two moms, two dads, nonbinary babas, trans, ace, and bi parents, and allies—they’re all here!

Lindz Amer of the great kids’ video series Queer Kid Stuff consulted on the Blue’s Clues video, which takes us marching along the Pride route one by one, then two by two, etc., showcasing different families along the way. It’s a terrific celebration of families and goes further than many kids’ shows in its range of queer inclusion.

The show has also posted a special “Celebrating Pride Month With Blue & Josh! Opening Mail” video, which shows real kids talking about Pride, LGBTQ equality, and the LGBTQ people in their lives. It’s absolutely adorable!

This isn’t the first LGBTQIA-inclusive move by the show. Last February, it featured an array of Pride flags in an ABC video showing “how each letter of the alphabet is special.” Now, it turns to numbers to showcase queer Pride!

Pair this with the new “Be Proud” song from Dreamworks Animation’s Madagascar: A Little Wild, and you’ll be ready to sing your way into Pride Month!
