Human Rights Campaign President Kelley Robinson and her wife, Becky George, have announced the arrival of their second child, Nina, and vowed to keep fighting for her future and those of all LGBTQ+ families and kids.

HRC broke the news on April 25 that the couple had welcomed their new addition. Robinson and George, who already have a 3-year-old son, Izaiah, announced the news themselves on Instagram yesterday, and noted, “In a time when LGBTQ+ families like ours are being targeted and attacked, we choose to celebrate love, resilience, and joy. Baby Nina, you’ve already filled our hearts more than we ever thought possible — and we will keep fighting to ensure your future and the future of all our LGBTQ+ families and kids is full of freedom, safety, and love.”
I had the honor of interviewing Robinson in early 2023, shortly after she took the reins at HRC. She told me then that being a mom and wife is “the center of everything I do.”
She and George, a civil rights movement leader, also spoke with The Grio last year about how they met, their path to parenthood via reciprocal IVF (like my spouse and me), the need to protect reproductive health care, and their own fertility challenges. (Robinson had carried Izaiah, and they had planned for George to carry their second, but it was not to be.)
Please join me in congratulating the whole family on their new addition and thanking them for their ongoing work for all our families.
