Honored to Be One of GO Magazine’s “100 Women We Love, Class of 2022”
I’m honored to have been named to GO Magazine’s list of “100 Women We Love, Class of 2022.” To those of you visiting for the first time because of seeing me there, welcome!

The other GLAAD Media Award “Outstanding Blog” nominees and I sat down recently for a conversation hosted by actor, singer, and activist Peppermint (RuPaul’s Drag Race), about how blogging has changed over the years, why we think it still plays an important role in covering and connecting the LGBTQ community, and much more. Watch it here!
I’m honored that Mombian has once again been nominated for a GLAAD Media Award as “Outstanding Blog.” I won the award 10 years ago now (how time does fly!), and am humbled to be in the company of the other blogs nominated this year. I’m also thrilled to see so many great nominees in the “Children’s Programming” and “Kids & Family Programming” categories.
Gay Parent Magazine spoke with me recently about my family, my career, and the origins of Mombian—and the interview is in its latest issue, available now.
Parents magazine has put an LGBTQ family on its cover for the first time—and here’s what Entertainment Editor Jessica Hartshorn has to say about it.
Last night, at Family Equality Council’s Night at the Pier, I was honored to receive the Hostetter-Habib Family Award, while Katie Couric was honored for her work on the National Geographic film Gender Revolution.
I’m humbled and proud to share that Family Equality Council is honoring me with the 2018 Hostetter-Habib Family Award, given in honor of Alex Habib, Mark Hostetter, and their entire family to “an individual who has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to our core values of love, justice, family, and equality.” If I’ve been unwavering, though, it’s because my family—and all of you, readers—have been right there with me.
As a GLAAD Media Award winner (Outstanding Blog, 2012), I’m always excited to see the new crop of nominees. This year includes not only a number of terrific bloggers, but also a brand-new Outstanding Kids & Family Programming category—which speaks volumes just by its existence.
I have the honor of once again attending the LGBT Media Journalists Convening, as bloggers and journalists from both LGBTQ and mainstream media gather next week in Orlando, Florida to share ideas, hone our skills, and discuss issues relevant to all of us. I therefore have some questions for all of you.
I’m flattered. Someone submitted Mombian for a GLAAD Media Award, and it’s been nominated. I won the Award for “Outstanding Blog” in 2012 (sharing the honor with Towleroad), and didn’t expect to be nominated again.
