Inchworm Shoes Grow with Kids

Inchworm Kids\' Prowler Pre-SchoolKids’ shoes that grow with them? Sounds like a long-overdue idea. Maria Angeline, who hosts the Carnival of Shoes and Bags at Daily Dose of Queer, brought Inchworm shoes to my attention (via a sighting on Boing Boing). They grow one full size in half-size increments, thanks to a sliding center panel that locks into place and releases with the push of a button.

Inchworm Kids\' Primer PreschoolAmazon carries them, but only in a limited number of sizes and styles. The Inchworm site itself shows the full range, along with a better sizing chart. I haven’t tried them for my son yet, but they seem like a clever way to extend the time between new shoes. If you have any experience with them, leave a comment and let us know what you think.

  1. Hi Dana. I’m the mom of a gay son and a member of PFLAG. I’m also raising three great-granddaughters. If I don’t make it to see them grown, my son will take over. Fortunately in CA, that’s not a problem.

This note is to thank you for you comment on Blogging Baby today. You saved me a lot of typing.

    I’ve bookmarked your blog.

  2. Inch Worm shoes sound great. We elders could use them, too. Now that I am approaching my 71st birthday, I realize the truth in “feet continue to grow after a certain age.” I am now a size and a half larger. So Time for Senior Inchworms in all the same bright colors!
